Has anyone else read this book? I started it today and honestly could not put it down. It is a real life collection of letters between an American lady looking to purchase books and a man working in a London bookstore. Helene is a complete bibliophile and I can relate to it so much. A definite keeper for me.

I loved this one too Katey. My copy had the sequel in the back of it and I read them both together. Really lovely stories. I've never seen the film, but I think it will be good too. _________________ Currently reading: The Tent The Bucket and Me by Emma Kennedy and Granny The Pag by Nina Bawden

My book also has both 84 Charing Cross Road and The Duchess of Bloomsbury Street in it. I loved both, but actually preferred the latter as I loved her descriptions of her visit to London. |

| After reading those two, I looked around for other stuff by her, and managed to get hold of an omnibus featuring five of her books. The two I have already read were in it, but as it was only £1.50 on ebay that didn't really matter. The other three are Underfoot in Show Business, Apple of My Eye and Q's Legacy, and I understand they are all very good. |

| I love 84 Charing Cross road. It doesn't sound interesting when you describe it but when you start reading it it is unputdownable! Virago re-released it as one of their anniversary books in a lovely hardback. |

I really love the anniversary editions the covers are really lovely.
I've got a couple but I didn't buy 84 Charing Cross Road although it was tempting to buy all of them! I bought Their Eyes were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston and Excellent Women by Barbara Pym. I wish all books looked like them!!
