We have a readalong, how about we start a watchalong?

I'm thinking along the lines of watching, say, a TV series (such as Brideshead Revisited) as a watch-along event and watch one or two episodes a week, whichever everyone can fit in, and report back to the forum.

What do you think?

We can plan it in advance - members can nominate and vote for a final choice as per usual - so that we all have time to get copies of the DVDs.

This is a good idea Glynis. I would be up for this if the series could either be rented or was not too expensive a purchase.

Me too Laura. I love AMS work and I thought the feature drama done last year was brilliant.

Ok, that's great. Can you please post your nominations here? Then I'll put them in a poll and maybe start something for next month.

Do I second Katey's suggestion then??

I would love to watch this and an hour a week sounds manageable to me - it's ironing time!

I couldn't resist watching episode 1 of Brideshead Revisited. It was brilliant!! 10 more delicious episodes to watch!! I won't say more. When shall we start watching it? Does everyone have the DVD?

I haven't got it but will remedy that tomorrow! About time I treated myself to something, especially as Mother's day weekend was rather overshadowed by the funeral on Friday.

And I doubt I shall be able to resist starting it either Glynis

Would have quite liked to have joined in but don't think it is going to happen just at the moment.  The timing is not right for me. If it goes well and you decide to do another one, hopefully I might be able to fit it in better.

That's a shame Karen, but no worries, if it goes well (I'm sure it will!), we'll run another.

Shall we start this w/c 30th March? And how many episodes a week? There are 11 one hour episodes (I think they're one hour long) so if we do one a week, it'll take us up to July.

I know, but I don't have the discs and even a bargain price that would be a couple of cinema trips over the Easter Break. Added to that, that the Easter Holidays start next week and when the boys are home from school all other things stop - I don't have many more "home for the holidays" left so I need to make the most of them!  I got my film version through the door this morning so I will watch that and think about watching the tv series another time.

I'm happy with that.

Enjoy the film, Karen. It looks very lush.
