Apologies for the delay in this month's quiz.

This month is similar to May's quiz, except it's based on novels and I made it up!

A-Z Novelists Quiz

I've reworded the titles of well-known novels using a thesaurus. Can you decipher the correct title and guess the author? The letter next to each clue is the initial letter of the novelist's surname.

A. Green bookworms
B. Wind-up fruit
C. Plunging winged celestial beings
D. Delivery of the Roman goddess of love
E. Hushed faith in winged celestial beings
F. Beneath the body's largest organ
G. Writings of an oriental hostess
H. The Scarlet heels
I. Under no circumstances allow one to leave
J. Representation of youthful creative male
K. World's most famous book fashioned from venomous timber
L. A towed vehicle x 2
M. Penance
N. Seed from an apple
O. 24 years ago
P. Murky resources trilogy belonging to a male
R. 12am offspring
S. Youth in wheat field ready to grasp tumbling youngsters
T. Clandestine olden times
V. Winners' am mealtime
W. Lilac hue
Z. Robber of literature

Hope that's ok!   Possible total of 44 points.

Glad you liked it Nic. I had a giggle putting it together. I used books from my collection so if you're stuck, head over to BookRabbit to sneak a peek at my shelves   My fave is Under no circumstances allow one to leave, world's most famous book fashoned from venomous timber   and youth in wheat field ready to grasp tumbling youngsters   I should try my hand at compiling cryptic crosswords

By the way, H, The Scarlet Heels  - scarlet is the colour of the heels in the book, not a synonym for a word in the title. A proper rephrasing of the actual title would be: boiled sweet-on-a-stick footwear.

So feel free to edit your answers! Sorry for the mixup
