I have a copy of the BookDiary 2009 and Wise Dog books have sent me a complimentary copy of a new magazine that they have just launched.
From the blurb:
BookClub is filled with lots of news and features, ideas, hints and tips, information and reading suggestions, as well as lots more to help readers get the most out of their precious reading time.
BookClub will be monthly, from June 2009, and will be available by subscription. It costs just £3 an issue, and there are discounts for six and twelve month subscriptions.
Readers and organisations can subscribe online by logging onto our website www.wisedogbooks.co.uk
It's a small, glossy mag and looks very good.

Me either. Wasn't really my thing to be honest. _________________ handmade by Laura Croxson |

| I thought it was quite good, but not worth £3 per month so I won't be subscribing. Did like the article about Topping and Company Booksellers in Bath - especially interested because our move is imminent, again, and could be in that area. |

My copy of the mag came today and I really enjoyed it although it didn't take long to read cover to cover!! £3 is definitely steep for such a little mag. I liked the content, particularly the recommended reading - added a couple to my wish list, but there just isn't enough of it to justify a £3 charge. I remember there being a lot more in Newbooks mag and that didn't cost much more.
Having said that, I've ordered a copy of the next issue £3 inc. P+P! _________________ Reading: Miss Smilla's Feeling for Snow by Peter Hoeg

Don't know why I am laughing as I have just got mine and thought the same as you about it being a little mag for the money - but thought I might give it a chance and order another copy.
I get New books and have just had four books from today. One free book for £2.95 postage and three others for £2.50 each no postage! Still they are cheap for newly published books. |

Actually, looking forward to receiving the next issue. It might get better over time, fill out a bit.
