| I loved it Glynis! It is such a lovely film, I can't believe I have never watched it before, I will certainly watch it again! I just loved the ending, it definitely has the 'ahhhhh' factor! I think it is one of very few films which are timeless classics and I can see myself enjoying it as much in another forty years (although I won't be leaving it that long until I watch it again!) |

Excellent! Glad you liked it Frangi. I just love James Stewart; one of my favourite actors.
One to definitely watch every Christmas _________________ Reading: Miss Smilla's Feeling for Snow by Peter Hoeg

I have seen this before but it was years ago so don't remember much about it. I've borrowed it from my dad and am about to watch it now while I wait for my new cooker to be delivered! Rachel's at her nans today so I should be able to watch it in peace! _________________ Swap List: http://tinyurl.com/33pg6r

Oh my goodness, I'm so forgetful at the mo....yes I did. For a film that obviously didn't have any impact on me the first time I watched it, I thought it was fab! I'd definately watch it again. I thought it was similar to Christmas Carol in somme aspects, in that it makes you think about your life a bit and what difference you make to other peoples lives....does that make sense? Although I'm not sure what difference I'd make to other peoples lives!!!!
A Wonderful Life definately get's top marks from me. _________________ Swap List: http://tinyurl.com/33pg6r

Yes it is like A Christmas Carol. I'm sure Hollywood did a similar film to It's a Wonderful Life starring Cary Grant, can't remember the title, but for me James Stewart is the better actor and It's a Wonderful Life the better film _________________ Reading: Miss Smilla's Feeling for Snow by Peter Hoeg

I know I'm a little late but I couldn't resist commenting on one of my favourite films.
It's a Wonderful Life is, for me, one of those rare breed of films that takes you on an emotional journey; hope, despair and joy all jostle for a piece of the action throughout. Hope - that James Stewart's character George Bailey makes it away from his home town to travel the world. Despair at the buildings & loan falls into difficulties and George is ready to take the flack. And Joy when George realises just how much he has affected the lives of his friends, family and fellow towns folk.
I'll not go on too much more for fear of spoiling it for those yet to sample Frank Capra's masterpiece, but put simply It's a Wonderful Life is a Wonderful film. |

This is one of my all time favourite films too. I dont generally have a great deal of tolerance for black and white movies but this is just brilliant. I've urged friends to watch it and they all loved it too apart from one who gave up half way through because he thought it was boring. I really feel bad for him because he missed out on one of the most rewarding endings to a film in cinema history. _________________ Currently reading - Pride and Prejudice and Zombies |
