Are any of you reading any Christmassy / winter themed books with your children?
We've got a couple of favourites:
2 Noddy ones -
Noddy Saves Christmas
Noddy and Big-Ears meet Santa Claus in a magical tale of secrets, snow and sneaky goblins!
Noddy and Father Christmas
It's Christmas time in Toyland and Father Christmas is coming to visit. Noddy is very excited and can't wait to meet him, but you know those 2 goblins are going to be up to mischief.
And one other:
The Christmas Kitten by Susanna Ronchi
A magical tale of friendship and kindness at Christmas time.
I love this one, it's beautifully illustrated and such a lovely story.

We got quite a few Christmas themed books for Eva (5) from the library two weeks ago - can't remember the exact titles off hand as Bry has been doing reading duty since my hospital stay but will get back to you.
For several years we've been doing the Jolly Christmas Postman (indeed all times of year!!) which would be suitable from 2+ but is really for all ages. And there was Dear Santa too and The Night Before Christmas which remains a firm favourite - oh, and one by Mary Murphy - the Owl and the Star.
The library is great for picking up new Christmas titles - one of the ones we got this year imagines what it would be like if Jesus was born today, e mails and mobiles aplenty...will find out those titles tomorrow. _________________ Currently reading - The Italian Boy - Murder and Grave Robbery in 1830s London - Sarah Wise |

| I'm not reading these to my children now because they are too old but this is the first year they have not come out - I usually have them out for younger visitors, a bit like coffee table books, but we all tended to leaf through them and remember previous Christmases. Our favourites were Shhh! (Santa) by Julie Sykes and a beautiful book and retelling I picked up in the USA (although I have seen versions of it here) called The Fourth King; The Story of the Other Wise Man |

| We have a selection of christmas books that get brought out every year. One is the Jolly Christmas Postman which is great (though I don't think as good as the original), Rover Saves Christmas by Roddy Doyle which my son has found hilarious, Twas the Night before Christmas and a lovely pop up one with very fancy pop ups based on the 12 days of Christmas but called The 12 Bugs of Christmas. It includes snowflake bugs, reindeer bugs a-running and tinsel bugs a-tangling and is just lovely. |
