Hello everyone. I see there's a few familiar names from the RiSi forum too but I'll give a short intro here.

My name is Katie, I'm 23 and I live in Newcastle with my boyfriend and my 3 pet rats Sakura, Sophie and Scamper. I work part time in a charity shop and I'm looking for another part time job too. I'm going to go to college in Septemeber to do maths and then go to uni in Seoptember '09 to do a maths degree.

I love books and reading and always have ever since I was a small child. In my late teens/early twenties I wasn't reading much as I spent most of my time and money going out to pubs and clubs with my friends but I have always lovced books and started reading much more when I was on the sick long-term in 2006. I joined RiSi at the start of last year and have been reading more than ever and discovered books I wouldn't normally try.

My favorite books are chick-lit. I've always loved Douglas Adams and have just started reading Terry Pratchett. I've only read a few by Jodi Picoult but I love all of her's that I've read so far. I love to read non-fiction too, especially self-help books. I'm a bit of a hoarder but I've found flylady and have been decluttering.

I spend a lot of time on my computer    either online or playing games (my favorite game is sims 2). I have accounts on myspace and facebook but don't go there often. I'm often at RiSi, shelfari and makeupalley. I love how many emoticons you guys have here!

I discovered scrapbooking last year and I love it. I don't take many photos and I don't have much spare money so I haven't done much lately but I'm going to get lots more supplies for my birthday.

I think that's a long enough intro. Nice to meet you all!

Welcome to the site Firepoppy!

Shout if you need any help!

There's a few money making sites around if you're online and wanting to make some pocket money... don't worry no scams if you want details... just like doing kelkoo searches etc. Is how I fund most of my shopping trips/book buying

Hi Firepoppy,

I'm new too!

RATS RULE!!!

I don't have a rat anymore, although I did when I was at University. I loved him to bits and cried for a week when he died

I think they are very much misunderstood, and people don't realise just how affectionate they can be. Anyway, I have a parrot now, and he's great too!

Anyway, look forward to talking books with you sometime!

Chris
