When I was in Asda yesterday I discovered they were selling some childrens books for £1 too - the first time I've seen them.
I picked up 3 including The Ice Cream Machine by Julie Bertagna which my 2 loved when we had it on audio book about 2 years ago when going on holiday - age 5-8 ish I'd say.
Also got The Mum Detective by Gwyneth Rees, which is probably aimed a bit older. We've enjoyed her Cosmo books about a witch cat.
The third is The Blobheads by Paul Stewart and Chris Riddell who did the Edge Chronicles but this is aimed at younger - perhaps 4- 8 years and looks suitably silly and appealing!
