Hi everyone
Babbling Books are delighted that top author R J Ellory has agreed to join us for a live author chat.
He will be online at 7pm on Tuesday 17th June 2008 to answer questions about his work.
A Quiet Belief In Angels was a recent Babbling Books - Book of the Month.
Roger has also written; Candlemoth, Ghostheart, A Quiet Vendetta, City of Lies.
His next novel, A Simple Act of Violence is due this year.
I really hope everyone can make this event - for anyone who cant make the date and has questions for Roger - please PM your questions to me and I will make sure he gets them.
Roger has already joined the forum and checked out our discussion on A Quiet Belief In Angels - he sends this message:
Dear Anne,
It's actually fascinating to read all the different viewpoints abou the book. For me it's strange because Quiet Belief was the fifth book I've published and so very different from the first four. For those many, many people who have now read Quiet Belief it's interesting to think that they now consider that that's the way in which I write in all my books, which isn't the case! They're all very different - all basically human dramas with some sort of crime element somewhere in them, but they're all written in the style that suits the subject matter. Candlemoth is another relatively slow-burn coming of age drama, but told by a character in flashback from Death Row, whereas City of Lies is a much faster-paced hard-boiled thriller, and is written in a style suited to the subject matter. With the Richard and Judy promotion behind Quiet Belief I feel I have been given the most tremendous opportunity, and I hope that the book has inspired readers to perhaps have a go at another one of the earlier books.
Anyway, please forward this e-mail to all the members if you so wish, and then they will know how much I appreciate their opinions and input. Also, if anyone wishes to, I would be very, very grateful if they could post a few words on Amazon. For obvious reasons I am trying to get the book out and well known, as - for me - this is a chance to launch what I hope is now my career, as opposed to a secret wish that I can go on getting published for the rest of my life! It took all of fifteen years to get to this point, and now I'm in a situation where I have been given this avenue to reach people, I don't want to lose it!
So we'll speak soon I'm sure, and I'm really looking forward to being part of the discussion group.
Take care Anne, and my very best wishes,
Roger.

This is great! Another interesting author chat coming up. I'll have to look at his other works and read one of those before the chat. _________________ Currently Reading:

Really looking forward to this, just hope that I can attend the chat. I'm going to finally get round to reading the copy of A Quiet Belief In Angels that Heather lent me in the next few weeks! I was going to start it now but I'm going away for the weekend and don't want to risk losing or damaging the book! _________________ Swap List: http://tinyurl.com/33pg6r
