Have any of you come across Mini IQ? They are a direct sales / party plan company that sell educational books (along with a few toys / games) for children from birth - 12 years.
I think their books are great! I've hosted two parties at my house. The party planner comes here, shows off some books from across the range in a half hour presentation and then everyone at the party can buy from the catalogue. The hostess gets 10-15% of the party's sales in free books, along with up to 3 half price books if anyone else books a party. In my last party last week I only spent £13 and I've just received LOTS of books for the boys!! It was like Christmas all over again!!
Well, this time I got so excited about the products, I've decided to join Mini IQ and be an independant associate. So now I'll be doing the selling... I've just received my box of demo books, there's loads in there and Laurence (my 4 year old) and I had loads of fun looking through them all.
I've just got to start asking people to hold parties for me now.... wish me luck! I hope this goes well.

Not heard of them Heather but I just looked them up and they look great for young ones. I have a friend who does Usborne Books and she does very well. She does not do much in the way of evenings, she mostly does coffee mornings and play groups.
Good luck with it. Hope it all goes well. |

Thanks Karen.
I'm hoping to do a mixture of toddler groups / school fetes, coffee mornings and 1-2 evenings a week max. The evenings are easier because I'll be able to concentrate a bit better, but I don't want to wear myself out. The day times will be part of my normal routine, but then I've got my boys to looks after...! _________________ Currently Reading:

I've been to a couple of parties Heather and I agree, they are great although the more expensive end of kids books.
My 2 are getting towards the top age end at the moment, but we do have quite a few Mini IQ books in our "library". And they have some fantastic stuff for babies and toddlers, if you can tap into that market.
Good luck with it!

Thanks Mel! Fingers crossed. Helen might do a party for me when the new catalogue comes out in August (saw her this morning). So starting to get some interest.
