By the author and illustrator of The Gruffalo, this is one of theirs that seems to rarely get a mention.

Baby monkey is lost and a butterfly offers to help him find his mum. But whenever he describes her, butterfly gets it wrong. With the usual lovely rhyming text and beautiful jungle illustrations this was one of my daughter's favourites. And you'll love the little joke included in it!

Laurence and I have enjoyed this one, we borrowed it from the library some time ago. I think I'll have to rent it out again for him soon as he's currently really enjoying The Snail and the Whale.

We've got this one and it's very sweet. You're right Sarah, it doesn't get mentioned much.

Laurence received this one for Christmas! He loves it and we've been reading it nearly every day for the last couple of weeks now.

It's a lovely book, so many of Julia Donaldson's are!  We were reading The Snail and The Whale again last night.  I believe she has a new one out this year - we got Stick Man last year but it's going to be a slow burner for Eva I think.
