Saw this yesterday, got it on loan from my library for £1, bargin! But am glad I didn't dish out £3 for it because I wasn't too impressed.
Spoiler:
I thought I might enjoy this film ... it had the actress from 'Atonement', the one that played the older Briony, Bill Nighly and a couple of other famous faces. But it just seemed much ado about not very much at all. I didn't sympathise with any of the main characters, I didn't laugh, I didn't cry, I wasn't moved. It was quite simply dull and unremarkable. I don't know what else to say! I won't be reading the book but would be interested to know how it compares.

This has just arrived from my rental company so I'll watch it in the next few days and report back. Hopefully I'll enjoy it more than I did the book! _________________ Swap List: http://tinyurl.com/33pg6r

I can only agree with Mazzystars spoiler I think and don't have much to add. It's not a film that will stick in my mind and now I've watched the film I'm glad I didn't finish the book to be honest. I really wanted to enjoy both the film and the book but they were not my cup of tea at all I'm afraid. 2*'s from me as I didn't hate it, it just didn't do anything for me.
