Books to the ceiling,
Books to the sky,
My pile of books is a mile high.
How I love them! How I need them!
I'll have a long beard by the time I read them.

Thought I'd posted a reply to this but it seems to have got lost!

I wondered if you'd written this Glynis until I got to the last line! I love it, I will keep a copy somewhere.

I use this poem on some of the hand made book marks I give out with my swap books....
and this one  too..
When I start a new book, I like to choose the 'right' bookmark, a slip of paper won't do...

I love that quote, Glynis. It's a running joke with my work colleagues that I've turned into such a hermit since I've been off work that I've grown a beard to fit my reclusive state, I would like to say it is all a fallacy    Loads of my books are still box up but there's just no room for them here at the moment
