Anyone else's children doing the summer reading Quest at their local library? We have done it for several years now and my daughter registered yesterday.
My son however, decided he didn't want to force him so I said I'd still like him to read over the summer so he's decided to do his own challenge at home and has picked 6 books already. I think he didn't want to do the challenge because he'd got a couple of books lined up at home but as long as he's reading I'm happy. And he's nearly 1/4 of the way through his 1st book already.

I've seen the Reading Quest before but it was not too well publised where we were living at the time and by the time I found out about it we were too late to take part. I think it needs Primary Schools to be on board to give it an extra push and ours at the time was not.
I would imagine your son feels quite grown up doing his own reading challenge. |

Our local library is pretty good and someone comes in for a school assembly to talk about the challenge (although we did the first one when my son was in pre-school and we saw details at the library where we were regulars!). Easy to do in towns I guess.
