http://www.apple.com/trailers/par...t/thecuriouscaseofbenjaminbutton/ I've never read the book by F. Scott Fitzgerald but seeing this trailer makes me want to get hold of a copy. Have any of you read the short story, and if so what did you think of it? Lisa x

I did not realise this was based on a short story.  I am on the look out for Tender is the Night also by F Scott Fitzgerald, for next months reading group. I might keep my eye out for this too at the same time since I am keen to see the film when it is released (next week I think).  There seems to be so many good films out at the moment, it's hard to fit them all in.

Karen, I have Tender Is The Night.  If you can wait a fortnight or so I can post it you.

Wow, thank you Katey, that would be brilliant. I need to read it by the first week of March so I am not in a desperate hurry, just a bit more organised than usual in starting my search for it.

Going to see this at the weekend at our brilliant Arts Cinema in Dundee. Boys did not want to see it over half term (went to see Pushers instead) so thought I might have missed my chance.

I didn't know it was based on an F. Scott Fitzgerald story either. I've been told the film is rather long, but it certainly sounds interesting. Will look out for the book. Learn something new every day. Thanks x

My husband and I really enjoyed Benjamin Button at the weekend. I was ready to be disappointed because after seeing the initial trailers and wanting to see it I heard a few poor reviews, basically saying it was long and boring.  It's a quirky story of someone's life that can only exist in fiction but that seems to take place somehow in our own real world and I actually loved it.  I had thought I might read the short story, and I suppose I might one day, but for now I enjoyed the film so much that I can't imagine enjoying the book more.

It is a very good film, its certainly not what you would expect from Fincher and yes it is very long but I enjoyed every second of it.
