Imagine you are hosting a dinner party and could invite any fictional character and any author. Who would you invite and why?
Or, what character or author would you love to engage in a one-to-one conversation with?
Oooh interesting I'm going to have a really good think about this...

Would love to talk to William Shakespeare - would have so much to ask him, about his works and the times in which he lived, that it would have to be a one-to-one. Still, would be interesting to see how he'd interact at a dinner party.
I would also invite The Brontes (can't help capitalising 'the' )
Ooh would invite Henry & Clare & their daughter from The Time Traveler's Wife - would love to ask Henry questions about his condition, but imagine if he vanished then reappeared naked under the table.
Who wouldn't I invite? Now that's interesting...Hannibal Lecter. He'd serve brains for dinner...yuk _________________ Reading: Miss Smilla's Feeling for Snow by Peter Hoeg

I would invite Simon Schama, Iain Pears, Margaret Atwood and JRR Tolkien - these are my favourite authors.
Not sure which ficional characters I'd invite - possibly Richard Sharpe (from the Bernard Corwell novels) because I love the history of the Peninsular wars and maybe Sherlock Holmes.
I think that would be an interesting mix _________________ Currently reading: Man in the Dark by Paul Auster |

Very interesting question!!
My fictional character would have to be The Vampire Lestat.
(not that he'd eat much...lol)
And my author would be Stephen King.
If Lestat would not come It would be Roland Deschain - the last gunslinger.

Author-wise I'd like to invite Alice Hoffman, Julian Barnes, Jasper Fforde and The Brontes (note the capital, Glynis ).
Characters would be Eva (the mother from we need to talk about Kevin) - have a lot of questions for her, Eustacia Vye (from Hardy's Return of the Native), and Rebecca and Max de Winter.
