What Kind of American English Do You Speak?

http://www.blogthings.com/whatkindofamericanenglishdoyouspeakquiz/

There are a couple of odd questions in this quiz. Like:

Quote:
What is the four wheeled contraption you push around your groceries in?
Buggy
Carriage
Shopping / grocery cart

ermm...hello?...how about shopping trolley?

and do we now know what toilet papering is?

Quote:
The act of covering a house or area in front of a house with toilet paper is called...
Toilet papering
Rolling
TP'ing

I'm sure that question popped up in another fun type quiz/questionnaire on BB

Quote from a web site

"The Midwestern accent is usually considered the most “correct” of accents in American English, since it lacks a great deal of specific inflection, and sounds "flat." Upper Midwestern American English takes its sound from the Scandinavian accents of those who first settled there. "

The Scandinavian part is interesting as there is supposed to be evidenced that the Vikings settled in Westmorland despite a strong Celtic present which tried to hold them back.

So I having a good day . I have found out that I am unfaithful and manipulative because of my birth date and now I discover my accent is considered 'flat' and that I may be the result of some raping and pillaging in the 1st century.

Toilet papering is, as its name suggests, the act of covering an object (usually a tree, house, or other structure of similar size) with toilet paper. This is typically done by throwing numerous toilet paper rolls in such a way that they unroll in mid-air and thus fall on the targeted object in multiple streams.

Toilet papering, also called TP'ing or Yard Rolling, has become a popular tradition in the United States, and usually takes place after the completion of a school's homecoming football game, as well as on Halloween, though it is not restricted to these dates in any way.

It is often done in small groups, and these groups will usually target certain houses and toilet paper the entire yard. The mess is usually relatively easy to clean, but rainfall can cause the toilet paper to become soggy and sticky, making cleanup more difficult and troublesome

Well that sound fun!

We learn something new every day. Thanks for looking it up Blueflower. I had heard of it but knew nothing about it. Have to say, it sounds bizarre but fun.
