Guardian- 1000 Novels You Must Read

1000 novels is a seven-part series free with the Guardian and the Observer. Each day covers a different genre: love, crime, comedy, family & the self, state of the nation, sci-fi & fantasy and travel & adventure. There are around 150 titles reviewed each day all selected by the Guardian's editors and literary experts.

Starts Saturday 17 January-
with "Love".

Methinks I shall be popping along to the newsagent on campus all next week to get myself some half-price newspapers...

Thanks for this info. Will definitely have to get myself a copy of The Guardian from Saturday.

That was my thought as well I never buy newspapers but I may have to make an exception if it isn't on line.

I'm another non newspaper buyer. How about if it's not online we undertake to buy a different days paper each and post the list on here. I'd be happy to do one or two.

Yeah, I'd be okay doing that

Here's the page advertising it:

Maybe they will put the lists online- so that people can discuss the choices, but only after they have been given away in the paper ?

I tend to get things wrong and today is no exception.

I went out and bought The Telegraph instead of The Guardian.  However it did have 100 books to read - but they can be found at
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/cultur...-novels-everyone-should-read.html

But the good news is that the lists in the Guardian can be found at
http://www.guardian.co.uk/books/2...ovels-what-makes-great-love-story

So no purchase is required.

(I am now £1.60 poorer but have lots of newspaper to wrap up in when I can't afford my electric bill).

Ooh, more books to tempt me!

Thanks for the link, Gwen.  You could use the paper for fish and chips....

Thanks for the links Gwen!

Thanks for that Gwen, I'd forgotten all about it I must confess.
