Has anyone got 'The Shack' by William P Young? It is the one book I REALLY want to read. It is a long shot perhaps, but thought I would ask if anyone had it and was willing to loan it me?

I can't help you with a loan I'm afraid, I had not heard of it until I looked it up just now - it sounds like quite an intense read, but an interesting one so I have penciled it on to one of my many lists.
I usually get most of my books from the library, have you tried requesting it from your library? The library I use has it's catalogue on-line so I tend to trawl through my lists on-line, request a dozen or so books and then just drop by and pick them up when they come in.

I think that is what I need to do Karen, the problem is my library have struck me off the list! When I worked for Rotherham libraries I used those as it was so much more convienient and now Sheffield libraries have said my inactive account has been deleted. So I need to make a point of getting my proof of address sorted so I can renew my membership.

Have you checked out your library recently Katey? When I joined my library in Cumbria (I live in Scotland, I know, but I lead a complicated life!) I was amazed to find out how internet based they had become. I applied on-line, they posted my membership details out to me and I can now operate my library account on-line - request books, renew books and even pay fines. I know not all counties are the same, the service in Fife is not at the same level but it might be worth checking out - if you just need to sit at your keyboard and enter a few details you might not need to prove who you are!
Of course with Christmas on the horizon you might be able to persuade someone to put it in a parcel for you. - the paperback version on Amazon came in at under a fiver I think when I checked on there for some blurb details.
Hope you get lucky!
