Hi all!Thought I should finally get around to introducing myself, since I registered here a while back and then totally forgot I had done so. I was just reminded today when I got an email update.
I'm 29, from Ireland, and love to read. I have just finished up with a Bachelor of Arts degree, and since reading for that (I took English lit) took up most of my time over the last few years, I kind of missed out on reading for pleasure. I'm hoping to catch up on that now and join in some of the book group discussions.
Mostly I like autobiographies and memoirs, but I'm also interested in finding some good fiction. I've been reading some Jodi Picoult lately, which I've been enjoying.

Hi Penny and Welcome to BB! I also studied English lit and it was a novelty when I actually had time to choose books that I wanted to read rather than struggling with Moby Dick and Ulysses!

Welcome Penny - I am sure you will like it here! (I'm pretty new here as well, but people seem really nice!)
I applied and got accepted to studying litterature both at Aberdeen and Edinburgh university, but decided to study European Studies instead as I am not a big fan of reading because I have to - was probably a wise choice for me! (although have probably missed out on some good classics because of that choice)
