New! Babbling Books has its own book shop!

We've joined up with Amazon to create our own bookstore - woo!

To access the store, please visit: http://astore.amazon.co.uk/babblingbooks-21

Or scroll down to the bottom of this page.

We've designed the shop so that you can view all books we've discussed or are about to discuss without having to type in a search. So if you can't get hold of our chosen books via RISI, you can visit our BB shop to browse for books instead.

You can also browse the whole Amazon store too.

BB earns 5-10% cash back on all purchases made through the store, so all monies received will be used to fund BB competition prizes. Which means we'll be able to offer you better prizes.

We'll keep you in touch with how we're getting on.

Please note that if you are buying from the Marketplace or buying with vouchers (paying for full order with vouchers), no money gets donated to the site. We only get anything if you actually buy gift vouchers or pay for your order by card.

Got my first BB order in! How do they calculate the % BB will receive - do individual orders have to be over a certain amount or is it cumulatative (sp?)
Tigerlily

Thanks Treez We receive 5% of the order price (exc. p+p). We're already over the £2 mark - Woo!
sirg1006

Thanks to all those who have and continue to shop through the Amazon store... we have enough to fund at least 1 competition already and hoping to continue to earn more

Look out for some good prizes in the not to distant future!

Just saw the shop at the bottom of the page, is great idea to have it there and will deffo be buying from there from now on
emzbubble

Ordered Little Face and Under The Skin from here
Hope they come soon so can get reading
Tigerlily

Thanks Em, that's much appreciated. We've earned over £20 now so we'll be able to have some good comps in the new year.

mistymoo

I'm such a doughnut, I forgot about the link on here. I will use it in the New Year, sorry
sirg1006

No worries misty - we'll need funds throughout the year

Annoying it doesn't work when using vouchers!

miranda

just used the shop - hopefully!

Hi all

I think I have used the bookshop! Only a small order, but can an administrator tell me if I have done it succefully? Cos after I bought my book I realised I hadn't logged into babbling books so I don't know if it work! doh!
sirg1006

It should work as it will have the link embedded into it.... Glynis will have to check as I don't have login details

Tigerlily

It'll be fine Miranda. What was the book you ordered?

miranda

I ordered The Testament of Gideon Mack by James Robertson. I really enjoyed his book The Fanatic, and this one is in R&J's book club so I thought I would read it before all the hype kicked off. I don't buy new books that often, but made an exception in this case - it wasn't that expensive anyway. I will let you know if it is any good.
Tigerlily

It definitely worked ok Miranda - thanks for using the shop

Enjoy the book x
Tigerlily

If you'd prefer to buy and/or browse items via Amazon (rather than Babbling Bookstore), you can now click on the link above (under the news ticker) and Amazon will open in a new window. Any purchases you make after clicking on the link will help the Babbling Books cause
katey

I will definitely use the store if I buy from amazon in the future.
Tigerlily

Thanks Katey
blueflower

whoops have just had a couple of orders and I forgot to order them from the bookstore. I must try to remember in the future.
Tigerlily

No worries, Blueflower - you don't have to shop via the store. Any of the Amazon links you see on BB will help

Thank you so much, Tina, it worked!
mummymelly

Just preordered a couple of books (from hubby to me for my Birthday) so hope it's gone through OK on the BB link? x
Tigerlily

Hi Mel - 4 orders have very recently gone through okay, so they must be yours. Thank you!
annecater

Placed an Amazon order and one with The Book People too, both through the BB link. Hope you get the pennies!

Ooh thanks Anne for doing that, you're a star
eightlegs

Book People order yesterday for me too £34.97 or something like that!
Tigerlily

Thanks for thinking of us, Sarah, it's gone through ok.

Your avatar is sooooo cute.

Usually when I shop on Amazon I add books to my basket over a period of time then order when I get free p&p. If I go through BB and put a book in my basket, but the next time I go into Amazon and forget to go through BB and put another book in my basket then check out, does BB still get the sale of the book I put in thorough BB even though the basket contains a mix of BB and Amazon orders? That's a bit long winded so I hope you could follow what I was trying to ask.

I'm not sure. If you place an order, you'll have to let me know what you ordered for me to see if it's gone through ok.
nicnic

Heya, I just placed an order for DVDs on amazon via BB for about £53. Can you check that you got the pennies ok?
Tigerlily

Karen

I spent a little with Red House last week and ordered a book for my reading group from Amazon today. My orders did not total much but I did use the links so hopefully you will get a few pence out of it.
eightlegs

I too spent with Red House last week, only £6 though. Hope it comes through
Tigerlily

Thanks Sarah, and thanks Karen for your spend in Oct! Will arrange a competition again soon. Actually, popped into a gorgeous gift shop in town and saw a lovely tabbed book journal so perhaps we could have a prize like that.
Karen

Used the Amazon link to buy dvd's for my son this morning and also the Red House link for a couple of books last week.

Thanks Karen
eightlegs

I've just placed an order with Amazon Glynis for £32.96 via the link so a few more pennies in the pot.
Tigerlily

Thank you Sarah. I've some competitions planned soon which I think you'll all love. Hope so anyway!
Karen

I don't know if you knew, but bookrabbit is up and running again. I quite like it over there, lets me make lots of lovely lists of my books! It then compares your booklists with everyone elses and tells you who you share books with.
Not sure what it was like before, I know you can buy books over there via them but not directly from them.
eightlegs

Ooh Karen, how tempting lots of lists. Will have to go and have another look. Not sure if I joined but you never know this time.....
Tigerlily

Yes I joined ages ago and have made friends with a couple of writers from there on Facebook. Actually I should post details of their work on here. I enjoyed the BookRabbit site and received a free copy of R. J. Ellory's book A Simple Act of Violence from them. Glad to hear it's up and running again. Thanks for the info Karen x
