Oh, I don't like these...

I would like, if I may, to apologise in advance for offending or insulting anyone here, it is more than likely that I didn't mean to do it, or if I do mean it, I will probably regret and will feel the urge to apologise soon after, I won't because I'm far to proud but I'ld want to apologise and that's the important thing.

I also have a bit of a tendency to swear if I'm ranting about something, so it might be a good idea to send me a list of what I can and can't say.

Now that's out of the way, I'm an avid reader, and that never fails to amaze people when they learn, though I do tend to stay with authors I'm comfortable with, people like Terry Pratchett, Garth Nix and recently David Eddings.

I'll also be posting very sporadically (is that a real word, it sounds like one I've made up?), it's more likely that I'll be reading everyone elses posts and then pass their opinions of as my own in case we end up doing the same book in one of my other book clubs, so I should probably apologise for that as well.

Well, reading through all that it doesn't seem like a promising start does it?

But it's original! Welcome-visit and chat as often or as rarely as you like, you'll always be asssured of a warm welcome. Even if you do like Terry Pratchett!!!!

Welcome to BB 52
sparkymarky

if there was more than one of you you could get together and sing loveshack because then you would be the BB52'S lol

sorry thats an awful joke lol
sparkymarky

Welcome.....

Welcome to BB 52.

Welcome from me. I too was thinking what an original introduction, I suspect you write as you speak??!!

And as for offending people, as long as you don't have a go at people I'm sure you'll be fine. Certainly feel free to disagree with others about books, surely that is what discussion is all about. We all often disagree on the books we love, and or hate. It'd be pretty boring if we all agreed, and the site would become fairly pointless.

Anyway, hope you enjoy it here,
Sarah

And that is completely true, well... I suppose it's more difficult to go off on a tangent when I'm typing. How is the banana skipping? I mean, they don't have muscles...hmm seems I can go off on a tangent when I'm typing.

Oh right, thanks for being so welcoming and all that jazz.

Hello and welcome to BB - I'm enjoying your posts already!
sparkymarky

the B 52s were a pop group who sang a song called loveshack-surely you've heard of them?

or maybe not.....don#t worry was an awful joke anyway...
dingsy

I could redeem myself, by association perhaps, if I tell you that my hubby adores Pratchett (he loves me too, so maybe he does have dodgy taste...). He has nearly all his work, and has re-read them many times-so, am I forgiven?
Tigerlily

Sparky, 52 is only a whippersnapper being born in '91 so probably hasn't heard of the B52s   I knew it reminded me of something when I read BB 52'
sparkymarky

sorry i like pratchett too (laughs hysterically) and have just finished the fifth elephant!!

thought everyonew knew the song loveshack!!
lovely treez

Welcome 52.  Don't be sporadic, be spontaneous!!    Just adding a hormone/steroid injected banana for good measure (I imagine that's what makes it skip..)
sparkymarky

no this is what makes it skip....

That is quite possible

I wouldn't worry about it, I thought everyone knew 'House of the Rising Sun'. To be honest, I thought it was one of the songs that get's written into your genetic memory, a bit like 'Land of Hope and Glory' and 'Bohemian Rhapsody' , but I've met a few people who've not heard of it.

Spontaneous hmm? (Don't like that word, it never looks like it's spelt right). In that case, meet my new friend..... Gertrude, she comes complete with her own army of evil dancing bananas
