summary of the books we have disscussedJust to summarise our thoughts on Sylvia Plath's The Bell Jar....

4 people decided it was an inspirational read
2 people would have preferred carnal relations with a seal
(one of those would be me then....)

In conclusion,the opinions on our first book choice were a bit of a mixed bag but Plath's novel certainly provided plenty of debate in our discussion posts.....

never let me go by kazuo ishiguroIn the second of my monthly polls,the following results were revealed.....
7 people thought the book highly enjoyable and felt it raised many issues worthy of thought and discussion
1 person would have preferred to stick their head in the freezer untill their eyes got freezer burn suggesting that perhaps the novel wasn't to their taste
1 person couldn't have given a monkeys either way and thought the book was just "okay"
In total 9 members voted on how they felt about the novel and the issues it raised.

3 people rated it 4 stars out of five
and 1 person only gave it 3 stars
Out of 7 votes,the end result was 42% each giving never let me go both 4 and 5 stars out of five.
77% of people who voted thought the book a thoughtful and insightful read which gave them plenty to disscuss so overall i think you can safely conclude that the majority of us gave this book a resounding thumbs up!!
It certainly provided plenty of food for thought in the discussion posts.....now whats next?
