Finished 'Enduring Love' - Ian McEwan so now on 8. Although this was good in places and the basic plot was really interesting, the pages of waffle made this hard work and I did not really enjoy it

2) White Teeth - Zadie Smith
3) Birdsong - Sebastian Faulks
4) 1984 - George Orwell
5) Mansfield Park - Jane Austen
6) Pride and Prejudice - Jane Austen
7) Atonement - Ian McEwan
8 ) Enduring Love - Ian McEwan

I've finished Diary of a Nobody by George and Weedon Grossmith, nothing special IMO but light and easy. That takes me to 10 so on target for my one a month this year but would have liked to have done more!

15. Birdsong, Sebastian Faulks

Amazed by the sections on war, not too keen on the rest.  Will post more thoughts on the October discussion when I have had chance to 'digest' it.

I was trying to read Crime and Punishment for my 12 of the year so far, I've got about 100 pages in and I've put it on hold for now! The story is quite interesting once I get going with it, but it's quite heavy going and other books were calling me.... I'm now starting Birdsong for our October read and my 12th challenge book of the year.

I had originally targeted myself to read one a month, so in that respect I'm still doing ok. However recently I'd hoped to get closer to 20 by the end of December. I suppose it is still possible....!

17. Watchmen, Alan Moore/ Dave Gibbons

Something a bit unusual, a graphic novel.  Actually OH has been reading a lot of comics lately so it was nice to be able to share something with him.  A good read, and might resolve to try and read a couple more next year.
