Treez, I passed my copy on to Lisa as my OH decided to surprise me with some books from my wish list and Sarah's Key was one of them! Can't wait for this author chat!

Thanks Dani, there were a couple of other people wanting to read it so I'll check with them and get back to Lisa.  What a nice OH!!

Have nearly finished the book, and will be passing it onto Josie (jobar) this week. Lisa x

Thank you, Lisa. I hate to sound like I'm hounding folk - just wondered if everyone had got a chance to read it.  I'm really glad we've managed to circulate the copies round those who were interested and now it's on the Mobile Libarary on RiSi too so even more folk will have had the opportunity to read it before the author chat.

I got confused with this one, thought the author chat was 16th of this month so didn't think I had time to read it but as it's April I do, if there is a copy knocking about anywhere?? Or is there a list I could go on that might make it in time? If not, no worries as I'll just read it when I can then read the chat later.

Sarah - Heather has got my copy, I'm sure she would send it on to you when she's read it.

I received a copy of this from Heather and started it last night. I am loving it so far, though finding it a bit distressing!

If anyone would like this copy after me I should be finished early next week, let me know.

I loved this book, and will be pondering it over the next couple of weeks to think of some good questions. It's definitely a favourite of mine.

I ended up getting Anne a new copy of the book and keeping the one she sent me as I spilt wine all over it....    I've now sent that one onto Sarah (eightlegs) so if anyone else wants to read a copy let me or Sarah know and there's an additional copy that we can pass around.

I enjoyed the book too. I was in floods of tears and appreciated the structuring of the novel - Julia's narrative offered respite from Sarah's distressing story (gosh, there were times I felt I couldn't breathe!). So weaving the two narratives together worked well.

I agree Glynis, always a bit of a relief to switch to the slightly lighter side of the narrative. Initially I was not keen on the quick jumps but now I appreciate them!

I've lent this to my Mum now, well I actually instructed her to read it!  I had spoken to her about it so much that I thought she had better read it, she took it on Wednesday saying 'please dont tell me any more about that poor wee boy' - I think she will enjoy it, although I'm not sure 'enjoy' is the right word.

Mum has read so many different types of book recently down to things I have discovered here and on RISI.  She only used to read Irish childhood tales and what I call 'clogs and shawls' books (Catherine Cookson, Josephine Cox et al).
This year she has read A Thousand Splendid Suns and Plain Truth by Jodi Picoult and really enjoyed both of them.

No worries Mel. If you have any questions to ask Tatiana, you can post them now if you like. Enjoy your meal!

Heather was just asking me about posting questions in advance, Glynis, do we need a new clean thread for it?  This one is a tad long now.

I don't think I'm going to be able to make the chat tomorrow night as I'm having a bit of a mare packing the house up and I'm just getting over another infection   . I hope you all have a great time and I look forward to checking the chat out on Thursday!
