Hello Kilgore Trout.

This is my first reply since joining so I hope I'm doing this right!!!!

I have an old copy of King Solomon's Mines that you can have if you would like it. ( I think it is an old school copy ,but it is readable).

I also have a copy of Flashman and the Dragon if you are interested.

Regards

I've got a rediculously long tbr list, so long that I haven't written it on here..... really must stop buying / swapping books! Anyway, I've read a couple of yours:

A Quiet Belief in Angels - R. J. Ellory  - reading it now, a bit slow to start but is picking up now I'm half way through.
Atonement - Ian McEewan -didn't enjoy this and gave up after about 100 pages.
The Interpretation of Murder - Jed Rubenfeld - this was ok. 3/5 I think.
A Thousand Splendid Suns - Khaled Hosseini - really want to read this one
A Room With a View - E. M. Forster - loved this
Memoirs of a Geisha - Arthur Golden - loved this too

A Clockwork Orange - Anthony Burgess - on my tbr

The Collector and The Magus are wonderful novels! The Magus is incredibly colourful and The Collector quite disturbing ~ a wonderful writer. I lent my copy of The Magus to my old manager and he never gave it back!!! Don't you hate that? It's definitely a keeper.

The Time Travelers Wife - Andrea Niffenegger - I've read this and enjoyed it but it does take a bit of getting used to!

A Short Histroy of Tractors in Ukranian - Marina Lewycka - I enjoyed this, even liked the tractor bits though they made you pause in the story

Angela's Ashes - Frank McCourt - great book

The War of Don Emmanuels Nether Parts - Louis De Bernieres - liked this too, have read the whole trilogy, is this the first, if not you might want to start with the first

The Magus - John Fowles and The Collector - John Fowles - I have read all of his books since someone recommended The Magus to me, they are brilliant and all keepers.

I certainly do! I just don't lend books!!! I would much rather (and often do) buy someone their own copy and make a gift of it!

Um..... I'm not going to get lots of requests to borrow books now am I?

Well on the basis of the two recommendations of the John Fowles books, they have now been given a firm push up the TBR list. Thank you ladies!

I have done a shelfari bookshelf - took me ages! I have left out all my text books and books that are packed away in storage, but this should give you a glimpse of what is on my bedroom shelves......

My Bookshelf

I also haven't sorted them into what I have read and what I haven't yet, but I will at some point.

I love your shelf Chris. I'm on there too; didn't think to share it with everyone, great idea. Lots of great books you've got there.
