Oh dear, I had a spare 10 mins today in town so nipped into Waterstones. Today is the day that loads of books are published- so the shop was full of trolleys packed with books!
30 mins later I left the shop having been tempted by the 3 for 3 offer.
Drood - Dan Simmons
The Street Philosopher - Matthew Plampin
An Equal Stillness - Francesca Kay.
..and I was late for an appointment.

I had a good look at the sony readers in Waterstones a few weeks ago and the young lady in there was so enthusiastic about her own (old style) sony reader I would have bought one there and then if I'd had the cash...lol
Are they planing on bringing Amazon Kindle into the UK? They are missing out by not doing it sooner I think. |
| blueflower wrote: | | Amazon keep making announcements but don't get on with. I had a play with a Sony in Waterstones once and had to leave the shop pretty quick as my credit card was trying to jump out of my purse into the little machine on the counter. |

Have you seen this one? Supposed to be available at Argos but there are none in stock - I can't figure out if this is because they have sold out or that they have not been launched yet. Quite like the web write up and that you can have audio books as well as just standard e-books to read. I will keep an eye on this and pop along to Argos to have a look when they're available. |

I think they may use the term 'out of stock' instead of 'not available yet'. If you think it isn't available you may go and buy a different system from somewhere else. But it looks interesting. I have thought of some draw backs to these readers - won't be able to buy the books in charity shops or swap on RISI or book mooch But I still may be tempted at some point.
Received today The Winter Ghosts - Kate Mosse. (in real book form). |

I went to a book signing tonight at The Organic Pharmacy at High St Kensignton and met the authors of The Green Beauty Bible ~ Sarah Stacey & Josephine Fairley. I'm a big fan of their website, newsletter and other books, so had a wonderful chat with them. Amongst other things, I asked them about remedies for dark circles and dry skin around the eyes and Sarah said that the Original Bach Remedies Rescue Cream is fantastic for it, so off I went next door to boots to pick some up!
I also got to meet the author and founder of The Organic Pharmacy ~ Margo Marrone. She signed a copy of her book for me too. _________________ handmade by Laura Croxson |

I bought Mourning Ruby by Helen Dunmore for 60p at the library as they had a shelf of books for sale that they were talking off their stock. Pleased as it has been on my wishlist for ages!
I also got Cecelia Ahern's newest one out on loan. _________________ Katey
