The only one I've read on your updated list is Mercy by JP. This was my least fave of hers and took me a while to get into it but it was still quite a good read.

Wow a lot of books there One that stuck out for me was A Million Little Pieces by James Frey which I read earlier this year. It's well written in an interesting style. I know it caused controversy in the publishing world, but regardless of what's been said it remains an excellent story reminiscent of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. Hope you enjoy it, Treez _________________ Reading: Miss Smilla's Feeling for Snow by Peter Hoeg

Gwen, it's been a long time since I read any Maeve Binchy either although I did enjoy some of her earlier ones many many moons ago. Funnily enough I had to fill in an online survey for Harper Collins today and had to answer questions about Binchy and what I thought of the covers of her books including Whitethorn Woods. I'll save her for comfort reading I think, which is on the menu in this dreary weather!! _________________ Currently reading - The Italian Boy - Murder and Grave Robbery in 1830s London - Sarah Wise |

Was it the survey that asked about quite a few women authors and who wrote similar books to them? I did that one and I hadn't read any of them so I had very little to say! |

I did a Harper Collins survey today that asked about Whitethorn Woods and Maeve Binchy among others. I too have read quite a few in the past, including Quentins which I enjoyed. But I've not heard much about Whitethorn Woods and wondered if it was not her best - I felt people would have mentionned it positively otherwise!
Struggled to answer the questions about which authors were like others though, mainly chick lit and whilst I'd heard of them all I hadn't read many!! |

I had read quite a few of the Harper Collins survey books...fingers crossed that I get my free book !!
I think Maeve Binchy has gone off the boil...Whitethorn Woods wasn't her best one ,but I really loved her early stories. |
