Haha Glad you're back Gwen. Could you sense Bobmac and I were pining for you, as we only posted today that we miss ya!
(By the way, in a question like that, where do I place the question mark? Do I place it after 'you' and type a capital letter 'a' for 'as' (or a lower case 'a'?). Or do I chuck the '?' on at the very end? It's been bugging me for a while and I keep meaning to look it up!).

Dunce
Sorry bobmac. I was lying in bed on Sunday morning making a mental list of jobs beginning with T and thought I was doing so well - until I remember I should be thinking of rrrrrrrrrr's not T. But by the time I came to post, my mind had reverted to T. Am I tired or what?
Glynis, I read out your sentence to Mr BF who is very particular when it comes to English, and when he'd stopped laughing -because he thought it funny someone should ask my opinion on a question of correct English - he said a question mark always comes at the end of the sentence and as you used a comma after 'you' instead of a full stop the question mark should come at the end. But he could be wrong.
PS - he also has a go at me because my sentences are too long and I ramble. Can you believe THAT? |

I always thought a ? came at the end of a sentence, treating it as a full stop, but sometimes in a long sentence, the ? looks odd at the end & miles away from the actual question. Does that make sense?
By the way, I do the same thing. I'll see the 'r', but it registers as an 's' or something. _________________ Reading: Miss Smilla's Feeling for Snow by Peter Hoeg

No experience necessary
I agree with you Glynis about the ? in a long sentences, mainly because my sentences usually go on and on until people have forgotten what I was saying and what the question was. |
