Hi all, my name is Andrew and ive been looking for a decent reading group for a while now. I like my Stephen King books (esp the Dark Tower Series) I enjoy James Patterson and Karin Slaughter. I have just finished the Anthony Kiedis story and very much enjoyed it. Having a passion for football (Liverpool) and boxing I do read a lot of books on those topics and I also like to read travel literature, mainly Bill Bryson although I have recently finished America unchained and really enjoyed it. I have also started reading political books of late, the last 1 being The Fall Of The House Of Bush - it was very eye opening.
Anyway aside from books a bit about me. I live in Bradford (West Yorks) im originally from Essex though I moved here from Bournemouth, I sell mortgages for a living and have a lil boy of 3 who tires me out every other weekend that I have him stay with me. As already mentioned I love my football and boxing im also a big music and cinema fan and I love to travel. Owt else you want to know feel free to ask

Hello Andrew and welcome to Babbling Books. I'm sure you will enjoy the company here. I'm not a huge fan of James Patterson except for his Maximum Ride series, my husband reads more of his other stuff than I do. I have read and enjoyed a few Karin Slaughter books though.
I'm a West Yorkshire Girl originally but move around quite a bit - currently in Scotland with a move to Bristol pending next week. I have two teenage boys and we love going to the cinema as a family on a very regular basis.
Hope you join in with some of the other posts. We are currently voting for our July reads if you want to look at the polls and join in the voting. |

Hello and welcome. I don't think I share much in the way of reading tastes with you but I'm always open to new suggestions.
My husband doesn't read much but when he does it tends to be sporting biographies - football, golf, cricket or whatever. My dad is the thriller fan.
Hope you like it here

| Have you tried asking at the library? They often host their own reading groups as well as having info on others in the area. Some Waterstones host book groups at their stores too, so that might be worth an ask. You could probably check both library and Waterstones on-line. I've joined my new library and their reading group on-line ready for when I move next week. |

I used to live in Leeds up until Dec and I ran a group in Leeds city as well as setting one up in Bradford. I don't know if the Bradford one is still running but I know Amie runs a group in Leeds. I'll ask her for you? Are you on Facebook Dutch? _________________ Reading: Oscar and Lucinda by Peter Carey

Welcome to BB. You aren't quite the only male. Sparky Marky often pops in to catch up on what is going on but I must admit we don't have too many men. You'll have to pass the word round and get more to join us.
