Gone with the Wind I read when I was coming out of a bout of depression and I hadn't read a proper book for months and months and I was devouring books and that along with Forever Amber I remember most because they're not the sort of things I would not have ordinarily picked but I loved them both!

Hard to pick just one!
But I do remember reading The Lord of the Rings - (first time) When I was a young Staff Nurse on a male Trauma ward back in the late 1970's.
Escapism at it's finest. Leave behind the horrors of RTA's etc. and travel to Rivendell with Frodo, Merry & Pippin!!!

This is quite tricky but I guess I'd go for Beloved by Toni Morrison. I read it for my A Level English and really struggled with it. It was only afterward once the pressure was off and exams were over that I fully appreciated what a wonderful book it is.

I remember reading Light A Penny Candle by Maeve Binchy when I had my first baby..I took it into hospital with me for the time between contractions....I didn't read much as she was born in a labour of only 4 and half hours....
I did eventually read it when I got home, but it took me a while

Have never looked at the Kama Sutra. Was it good Jan?   You did make me smile.

I read my older sisters' Virginia Andrews books when I was 13 for the risque bits, and remember feeling grown up reading them. I read a book I found on the shelves at home in my early teens, which had graphic sex scenes between two teenage boys   I had no idea to expect that so was shocked but carried on reading   I don't know who it belonged to, and I can't remember what it was called, but can vividly picture the cover.

Brothers by Ted van Lieshout?  I read that recently, one quite graphic sex scene!

...How many pages a day do you read?

PS your answers to the previous question were interesting.

I would say 20 on a very slow day, up to about 600 on a great day!

Anything from about 5 pages to about 200 if I'm working and get to read during the night at work.

It depends. If I've got lots of time and I'm in the mood I might read 200-300 odd pages but sometimes I might only read a few. I aim for 100 a day but it doesn't always pan out like that.

It all depends on the book...some I can read in one sitting and others I struggle with...on average about 100 pages a day

Depends on many things - just a few pages to demolishing a whole 500 page book cover to cover!!

My average has gone right down in recent months to about a page or 2 as and when I can pick up a book. However I recently read a 300 ish page book in 2 days as I was so captivated by it!

The average I used to aim for was 50 pages a day, hopefully I'll be back to that for the new year.
